We believe that Jesus Christ was particularly concerned with feeding people who were hungry, healing people who were sick, and drawing restoring those who had been outcast back into the life of the community.  As such, we believe that following Jesus Christ means sharing his concern for our neighbors in need.  We strive to live out our faith by sharing our time, talent and resources with organizations working to bring healing and justice to our world.

COMMUNITY KITCHEN

The Chattanooga Community Kitchen first opened its doors as a feeding program in 1982 when seven downtown churches, including Christ Church, partnered together in an effort to better meet the needs of Chattanooga’s growing homeless population. 

 

Since then, they have expanded to cover a city block, providing food and wrap-around services to the homeless and needy of Chattanooga seven days a week, 365 days a year.

BRIDGE REFUGEE SERVICES

The people of Christ Church, along with our neighbors from the Islamic Society of Greater Chattanooga, worked to resettle a refugee family from Iraq through Bridge Refugee Services.

METROPOLITAN MINISTRIES

MetMin is our area’s only “emergency room” for social services. Three days a week people from all over Chattanooga and North Georgia line up for urgent help paying bills, purchasing medication, and getting transportation.

Our Just One Can ministry helps provide food for the homeless and elderly in our area. Other opportunities to help come available often.

CHILDREN’S NUTRITION PROGRAM OF HAITI

Christ Church supports the Children’s Nutrition Program of Haiti. Our parish is involved in ongoing mission work and fundraising opportunities to benefit this program. Learn more about Kore Timoun below.
